Algorithm traces its history back to 1961 and was initially established as Charles. E. Frosst & Co. (M.E.) SAL plant. The company was a subsidiary of Merck & Co. Inc. (MSD) until December 1989 time at which the plant was acquired by the Shareholders of Droguerie De L'Union - distributors of MSD in Lebanon; the name changed to Algorithm SAL with the change of ownership. Algorithm has since concluded several strategic licensing deals that have strengthened its portfolio and pipeline, hence shaping its future. Algorithm also develops its own line of in-house differentiated generics. Today, Algorithm is a regional Pharmaceutical Company operating in the MENA region and committed to improving human health and well-being. It is focused on the following therapeutic lines: Antithrombotic Therapy, Central Nervous System, Diabetes, Dyslipidemia, Hypertension, Obesity & Primary Care.
