Mr. Ertl is the son of Fred Ertl Jr., past president of The Ertl Toy Company, and grandson of Fred Ertl Sr., well-known toymaker and founder of The Ertl Toy Company. DCP was based in DUBUQUE, Iowa. Under Ertl, it was related to Highway 61. First Gear acquired Die-Cast Promotions (DCP) in 2018, to help them expand into 1/64 scale.
