Lactalis Botswana

Lactalis Botswana is a foreign owned domestic company that began its operations in 2008. The company employs 186 people. It is engaged in the manufacture of UHT milk, madila and dairy blend juice. Lactalis Botswana sells all its produce in the local market. The company is not exporting mainly because of low production capacity. Large quantities of the main raw materials (milk) are imported from South Africa. However, should local supply of milk increase, the company has good prospect to export to Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola and RSA. Lactalis Botswana is part of the French international dairy company, Lactalis and is one of the major players in the Southern African dairy industry. It has operations in South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Swaziland and Mozambique. Lactalis Botswana aims to continue building this market leadership for its value-added and branded dairy products and fruit-based beverages.
