Founded by Bogotános natives, the company focuses on providing fresh ingredients and excellent empanadas, aiming to evoke the flavors and roots of Colombia in every bite. They are a Product Company and Caterer, proudly owned by Edward Jerez. They are also a Women-owned and Latinx-owned business, a current Kitchen Member, and their products are Made at CommonWealth Kitchen. They offer frozen products. Magic Empanadas was born from the desire to share Colombian gastronomy far from home. As Colombian immigrants, they understand how food keeps culture alive. For them, empanadas represent more than a meal — they represent memories, family, and tradition. Their journey began in the basement of a friend’s home in Boston, MA. There, they perfected their recipes and corn dough, working with dedication and faith in their dream. Over time, they participated in programs that helped them finance and strengthen their business. Today, they proudly operate from one of Boston’s most recognized shared commercial kitchens, dedicated to helping food entrepreneurs grow and connect with major organizations across the state. More than empanadas, they want to share their culture and create meaningful moments for Boston families through their food. Their products are made from 100% corn, naturally gluten-free, pre-fried, and flash-frozen to preserve texture and flavor. Thanks to this commitment, Magic Empanadas has actively participated in festivals, farmers markets, and pop-ups, and their products are now part of the menu in various cafés and restaurants across the city.
