In 2010, a vision emerged Coega Dairy. Initiated by 13 Eastern Cape dairy farmers, it aimed to empower its shareholders and support the local economy by adding value to their produce. By September 2011, this vision became reality as Coega Dairy began supplying consumers with fresh, high-quality dairy products. Coega’s strategic location near the Coega Harbour in the Industrial Development Zone ensured efficient infrastructure and processing for their products. Environmentally conscious and community-focused, Coega utilized eco-friendly technology to combine farm freshness with quality for consumers. Their ultra-high temperature (UHT) processing plant further reduced their carbon footprint. Coega’s success story is one of empowerment. It provided quality products, created jobs for the community, and allowed dairy farmers to add value to their produce.
