National Smallholder Farmers' Association of Malawi (NASFAM)

The National Smallholder Farmers' Association of Malawi (NASFAM) is the largest independent, smallholder-owned membership organization in Malawi. It is founded on the principles of collective action and is democratically governed by its members. NASFAM promotes commercialisation of agriculture by introducing the principle of farming as a business among its members who are largely smallholder subsistence farmers. They provide services including training in business management, marketing, quality control, literacy and basic education, and information services. NASFAM also works to empower women farmers and improve crop yields.
