Organic India is a company that supports fair trade and is inspired by community, working with independent Organic farmers and their communities. They practice seed saving and aim to preserve the best variety and provide the highest quality crop year after year. They are committed to healthy conscious living. Organic India operates on a 'seed-to-shelf' model, emphasizing transparency and ethical practices. They collaborate with nearly 2,000 direct farmer partners, supporting a nationwide organic movement in India. Their practices include guaranteed crop buy-back during the transition to organic farming, paying 3-4x above conventional prices for herbs like Tulsi, and fostering long-standing partnerships with farmers (over 15 years with 50% of partners). They sourced 3,435 metric tons of raw materials in 2022-2023, disbursing over $2.3 million to farmers. A significant portion (nearly 70%) of their crops are grown in the rainy season, requiring no irrigation. They are officially Regenerative Organic Certified®, going beyond organic and Fairtrade standards to ensure replenished soil, improved biodiversity, enhanced water conservation, and increased carbon sequestration. They also partner with the Indian Forest Department to certify 370,000 acres for wildcrafting and forest conservation, preserving traditional skills and protecting against deforestation. More than 50% of their raw material volume comes directly from independent farmer partners, with the remainder from value-aligned organizations.
