SHWire is the quality market leader for flat, round and covered enamelled aluminium and copper wires in Europe. The company was founded in 1858 as a cigar manufacturer and began parallel production of enameled copper wire at the end of the Second World War. It is a 5th generation owner-managed family enterprise. Manufacturing is exclusively done at the production plant in Lügde, which has been fortified through acquisitions, integration of competitors, and investments. The company promotes digitalization in alignment with 'Industry 4.0'.
