SMART USA (Semiconductor Manufacturing and Advanced Research with Twins USA)

SMART USA (Semiconductor Manufacturing and Advanced Research with Twins USA) is an Institute that focuses on efforts to more rapidly develop, validate, and use digital twins to improve domestic semiconductor design, manufacturing, advanced packaging, assembly, and test processes. It is a CHIPS Act-funded Manufacturing USA institute that unites industry, academia, and laboratories across 30+ states to create virtual manufacturing replicas that reduce development and manufacturing costs, cut manufacturing development times, and improve yields. Operated by the SRC Manufacturing Consortium Corporation, SMART USA operates through seven regional innovation hubs across the country while building a national digital platform for model interoperability and secure knowledge sharing. The institute aims to train 110,000 workers over five years.
