Korea SMEs & Startups Agency (KOSME) is a non-profit, government-funded organization established in 1979 to implement policies and programs for the growth and development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in South Korea. Headquartered in Jinju, the agency operates with a workforce of approximately 101 to 200 employees and maintains an extensive domestic and international network, including 31 regional offices and Global Business Centers (GBCs) in 13 nations. KOSME provides comprehensive support across the entire business life cycle, categorized into startup, growth, and re-growth stages. As a specialized service provider, the agency manages significant policy funds and financial assistance programs, including direct loans for high-tech startups, business stabilization funds, and investment-loan hybrid financing. Beyond financial support, KOSME offers a wide range of non-financial services such as business consulting, technical assistance, and human resource development through specialized training institutes and academies. To enhance the global competitiveness of Korean ventures, the agency facilitates international trade through export marketing support, trade delegation services, and the management of the Gobizkorea online trade portal. KOSME also operates K-Startup Centers in major global hubs like Paris, Seattle, and New Delhi to foster innovation and market entry.
